AceCys acute is a medicine containing acetylcysteine. It liquefies the bronchial mucus, facilitates the expectoration and improves respiration.
AceCys acute is used for treatment of disorders of respiratory system, associated with oversecretion and impaired excretion of bronchial mucus such as acute and chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the bronchi), bronchiectasis (permanent enlargement of the bronchi), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (long-term illness associated with cough, overproduction of sputum and shortness of breath), cystic fibrosis (hereditary disorder manifested with secretion of viscous mucus in the lungs and other organs).
The dosage is specially formulated for children.
Recommended dosage is as follows:
Adults and children over 14 years of age
Single dose 1 sachet (200 mg), 3 times daily.
Children 6-14 years of age
Single dose 1 sachet (200 mg), in 2 intakes daily.
Children 2-5 years of age
Single dose 1/2 sachet (100 mg), in 2-3 intakes daily.
AceCys is available as powder for oral solution 3.1 g in a paper/ aluminum/ polyethylene sachet. One package contains 20 sachets.
